Hi!

I'm looking for informations (web site, documents, standards, etc.) that would recommand
which windows 2K services could be turned off (or disabled) for common normal users that
mainly use MsOffice suite, IE and don't have to access is workstation from outside the
organization.

Thanks!

Like Icerantola I'm becoming aware of this problem, so your posting is a Godsend, but -

I'm sure the info is there on TechNet feelsick, but I wish they would remember not everyone is a computer whizz. Can you give me a few clues as to what I should look for or where? Remember I am an ordinary end user and just want to turn off any services not necessary, to plug leaks.

Thanks

microsoft.com allows a search of technet.

better still in my opinion is jsiinc.com

I'll look later myself for you.

and I know that not everyone is a whizz-kid - thank god, or i'd have no chance justifying the rates that keep 2 ex-wives in a style they've no right to !
