Doing some emergency weekend plumbing and you forgot to buy teflon tape or paste? Just grab use floss. Any of the ribbon type will work (waxed is best), don't use the woven thread type. Wrap a layer or two in the bottom of the thread grooves and you'll have a leak free joint. But remember to wind clockwise of you'll just end up with a wad of floss in your pipes!
