i want toknow if the ports between 6891 to 6900 are open on my pc.The problem is that i can't send/recieve files with ICQ or MSN.My provider told me that there is no problem at the server but The problem should be in my pc.Also the connection with ICQ or MSn breaks sometimes so that i have to log in again.I have a cable modem and a 7 ports router and working under XPpro and Win2000 pro.Can it be the router?It is A Level One router
Who can help me please and How can i see if the ports are open ?

Hi! Look for scanning software such as SuperScan. There are probably shareware programs out there. Anyway you should be able to determine if the ports are open with that method. Also, did you configure the router? Is it acting as your firewall? Are you running Zone Alarm?

I thnk that refers to the brand name Pat. Was the first time I had heard of them also /images/forums/icons/smile.gif
