I am trying to save the setting from View, Toolbars.
Lately, I installed something called hotbar, it is always checked there even I unchecked and closed out.
How do I fix it from registry so I won't see it showing all the time???

Hi,
Download <a target="_blank" href=http://security.kolla.de/>Spybot - Search & Destroy</a>
It looks for spyware, but also targets dialers, keyloggers, and other nasties, and it's freeware.
It's an excellent alternative to Ad-Aware, which has been updated less than frequently in recent times.
After installing, go to the Online tab, and search for and install all updates.
Next, go to the Settings tab > File Sets, and uncheck 'System Internals' and 'Tracks' .
These aren't needed for our present purpose, and you can always experiment with them later on.
Finally, after closing down Internet Explorer, hit 'Check All', and have SpyBot remove all it finds.
Good luck, Tony

i dont think you understand my post. The hot bar I downloaded on the ie. I could only turn it off manually each time I had it open. it is from view, toolbars, I uncheck that. But how can I turn it off permanent in ie?

I understand your post perfectly.
Hotbar is spyware, and you need to remove thwe program itself, which is more than just the toolbar.
Read this, and reconsider:

Cheers,
Tony,
That's a scary thing to have installed on any computer! /images/forums/icons/shocked.gif
I wouldn't care how useful it was even if it cooked my dinner & washed the dishes after - it's got to go!!
I agree with you, Tony. Get rid of it FAST, Homeflash!

Okay, I removed the IE part, what about the outlook part. It seemed like a good feature there. Would I be spied if I use the hotbar in outlook part??
please advise

No, you won't be spied upon, but what item in Outlook Express are you referring to specifically?

It is not outlook express, it is outlook 2000. It's similar to the IE, it has all sort of icon on top. Again, you have to manually uncheck it in order not to see it. Those icons are with the function of background pictures, and so on...
