Download not possible? (WME)

I don't know if I have a virus or not...but recently my computer's been acting buggy and i can't download any files. the files would cease to download after about 10 mins. At first i thought it was the website that had problems, but my friend could download it. however when i asked him to send it to me via msn messenger, the file send would be cancelled after a couple of minutes too.
is this a virus of some sort or just my comp getting buggy?

I'd suggest using a download manager so you can resume downloads.

Check back here, one of the experts in this forum may be able to offer you better advice
