Sorry about this mess,l can access it from my Favourites menu but not by typing it into a search engine.
Type this if you want to go to the site, you will have to click on a few links to get to the info l was talking about.
http://www.computerbytesman.com

l have posted the info below as well.

How to turn off ActiveX in Internet Explorer;

Select the Security tab in Internet Options
Make sure that the Internet zone is selected.
Push the Reset button to make sure that the Internet zone is at the Medium level.
Select the Custom level option for the Internet zone.
Push the Settings button for the Custom level.
For the setting "Script ActiveX controls marked safe for scripting" check the Disable option. Note, by changing only this setting, ActiveX controls are effectively disabled and no annoying warning messages are displayed if a page attempts to use an ActiveX control.

I have tried that options with windows 98SE and no background killer programs running and you still get the annoying pop up...

I kill it by running a combination of ad subtract pro and adshield.... with that options you talked about disabled...

Your best test is go to yahoo and do a search if you don't get any extras you are set up right....

just remember you can't kill all pop up cause that is how you navagate around some sites..

Adshield is the best filter for the unwanted pop-up and it still lets the pop up click links to go....
That is the wanted ones!!!!

I enjoy surfing very much better now....

Thanks
Mac!!!

I forgot about IESpy it is restricted list for IE...
It also puts the stop on pop up cause if a site is on the list you get no pop up from them...

Thanks to Hally he emailed me that they had an update...

Running the pop-up and ad killers are as important as having a updated anti-virus program

They are two different animals .. it is two different issues today so you need both types of protections...

I also run a program that monitors for trojans I don't run it in the tray.. I just run it when I do clean up... It is an easy way to check the registry keys and start up folders to see if any think has been added while you where sleeping...

LOl it has caught me cause I have installed stuff and forgot to update the list for it... So when I did my check it pinged on me!!!!!

you can also run POW in the tray.... when you find a pop up that is not blocked just add it to pow...

Thanks
Mac!!!
