Start button (W98)

Hi all,
Using win98SE with IE6, after opening IE6 and browsing, the text on my "start" button is replaced by varying colour patterns. Comes right with a reboot. Some have suggested video drivers, but have tried about 5 so far. Any tips/clues greatfully accepted

That use to happen on my Mom's Parkard Bell. The fix was to change the colors (in the display properties) from 256 to 16 or 32 bit.

If no go, then create a new user profile and see if the same problem occurs.
