D: has disapeared!

please help. d: is no longer listed in win explorer, nor is any CD-rom drive under hardware. how can i get it back? its an IDE drive and toshiba claims it should be automatically recognized.

Hi,

There can be many causes for this. Try removing the respective IDE controller from Device Manager and reboot. Window 2000 will discover this and reinstall the appropriate drivers - hopefully solving the problem.
