DNS error with IE (W98)

Ok, i have a just set up a wireless adaptor on my computer that runs windows 98 connected wirelessly to a WAP. The setup went very well with the wireless adaptor and the WAP communicating with eachother. THe problem is that went i open up IE it never connects to the website. I went to
the DOS prompt and typed ping google.com and was able to get 4 replies back so it seems to be connecting in that way but whenever I open up IE it never connects. Any help?

Try another web browser like Netscape to further isolate the issue to IE. Post back with your findings.

I had the DNS error with IE 6 just recently for I swear like 3 weeks, for the first time in years I could not display a page to even log into MSN! Finally after going thru the MSN techs online forever and doing everything from deleting cookies and TempIntFiles and then going to Win98 update page and deleting old update file, I mean I did everything - finally I get a tech on the phone who says to reinstall IE 6 over what I have. I did, and immediately I got a page and it displayed and I could log in. Also when it wasn't working, about the only pages that would display were here at Winguides and at a few other sites. May not be your problem, but I am using Win98 and it was ALWAYS a DNS error.

Thats not working either. Nothing will connect to the internet. Not AIM, not AOL, nothing.
