Command Prompt & F3 (W2K)

Automagicly, the F3 key does not display previous command in the command prompt. As if store or F3 is turned off. It use to work.
Does anyone know a registry key tweak for the stored commands?

The F3 key on both my Win2000 and WinXP computers saves the last DOS command as long as the window is open but clears it by default when closing the Command Prompt window.

Also by default, DOSKEY is loaded, which is also cleared when closing the Command Prompt window.

I'd presume these actions are part of the security features in both Operating Systems.
