Changed icons in windows buttons (W98)

Hello everyone ,
can you help or recommend me where is problem
and what efect will change back default setting
windows buttons max. min. close. and so on.
Because now I have there another sign. Something
like 0, 1,r. And when I click on Start button and I want press button on the right for example Settings
there is no black default sign but number 8.
Where I can change it--where in registers, or another place in windows.

You may have a problem with a Windows font named Marlett.ttf
This is a hidden file in C:\windows\fonts.

Extract a fresh copy( using SFC) from your install CD and placing it in C:\windows\fonts to overwrite the old copy. If you use a Restore CD, you will restore the copy of Marlett.ttf from C:\windows\options\cabs

Thanks for information.
Unfortunately when I restored Marlett.ttf from C:\windows\options\cabs this problem sill remain.
I have two hypothesis: It can be some kind of virus.
Or I have to change somewhere in registers default setting of my fonts.
But when I check my PC with antivirus program there is no sign for virus.
Can you recomended me something else._??
