Double click on My Computer on the desktop.
Notice the small icon to the far left (next to the words My Computer) in the title bar.
Left click (and hold) on the icon and drag your mouse to a blank area of the desktop. A new shortcut will appear for My Computer.
The same result occurs if dragged to the Quick Launch/Taskbar or Start button.
You can do this with any explorer window open to any folder.
