Hey Y`ALL ! I`ve been studying the subject of Max CACHE value for couple weeks+seem 2 B alot of varying opinions. I`ve been gaming 4 a bit now +looking to perfect my puter as can be. Now some say MIN.+MAX. should be set at =0 for both ,some say Min. is 0 / Max is 2.5 X or 3X your installed RAM. I`ve got installed 320mb Ram, 32mbs virtual +288mb not. Bare with me I`m in new territory here! Welcome your opinions fellow computer solvers ! Thanx Dean :)

Most printed/posted recommendations for the Virtual Memory settings [swapfile] point to 2.5 times the physical RAM. The Microsoft Help files in Win2000 and WinXP state the recommended size to be 1.5 times physical RAM.
Serious gamers will load their computer with the maximum amount of physical RAM as the motherboard and the OS can accomodate.
The Win98 OS does have a problem with more than 512MB RAM [vcache issue].
The main reason to not rely on the swapfile instead of upgrading RAM is speed, the swapfile is actually on the hard drive and much slower access than RAM.
Good judgement comes from experience, and experience comes from bad judgement
