Using Win95B and it is working fine. Well almost. The concern I have is I do not have a CD Rom to fall back on if the occasion should arise. Which I am sure is inevitable at some point and time. Where it went is a long story. Other then buying new when disaster occurs, is there any other recourse? Is there any transferring that can done while this version is still active? I am not very confident in this field, so if there is and it is too involved, I guess I am still in trouble. Thanks,

Look in your C:\Windows folder for a sub-folder called Options and in it a sub-sub-folder called Cabs. If there, it should contain all the files from the Win95 folder on the CD. Copy them all to another location, CD-RW, Zip100, Zip250, Tape drive, etc. Should be 70-100MB.
Might also check www.directdeals.com for a copy of Win95B. Next choice would be to get a copy of Win98/98SE upgrade or full.
Another choice, if your serial number [right-click My Computer, Properties, General tab] says OEM in it, find a friend with the CD and get a copy of it. Don't rely on a disk from one of the 'brands', they get to customize Windows and it may not work on yours. Most shops may have disks for when they work on computers.
The CD/software shouldn't be an issue as you should have the license/COA [Certificate of Authenticity] which has the serial number on it and is the license to use the software. Most software licenses allow 1 copy as a backup.

You could buy Norton Ghost which will copy your hard drive to a bootable disc (If Ghost supports Win95)
