I find using the Run program useful to use the internet. How do I purge and delete any items in the drop down list. Right clicking on an item does not work.

These are located in the Registry, in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Explorer/RunMRU.

If you don't mind using scripts then

Easier then navigating and cleaning it through the registry.
