how to know if the hd is running in udma33/66/100?

usually you set this in the bios,you might also spot how it's set listed on the post screen...hit the pause/break key quick like a bunny when it flashes up to have a look and then enter to resume the boot when you're done reading,usually it's the next screen right after the memory test :)

The drive maker usually has a diagnostic on their web site that will display the mode the drive is in and may also allow the mode to be changed.

im asking because i read this

it says that win2000 is preconfigured to run at udma33 until service pack 2 (it says nothing about service pack 3), and i wanted to know if this has been fixed with the new service pack

so, its fixed now?

One way I determine the Service Pack updates is if the description says 'includes all previous patches' or words to that effect. Or it if states that a previous sp is required first.

A use AIDA32, it's a great system info program. I am using Win 2k Pro + Sp3, Aida32 shows pri IDE as udma 5 (ata100).
