My company uses a Unix based system to run "XYMOX" which is where we do all our record keeping, scheduling, E-mail, etc.
In order to access this system from outside, we have always used an old program written for Windows 3.1 called "STEP/FW" which I believe is a terminal emulator. We use serial protocol calling in on a standard modem with WYCOL emulation.
We have people using this on Win 98, XP, and 2K Pro with no problems.
I was running this on a laptop with win 2K Pro and it was working fine. I recently installed service pac 3 and this program stopped functioning. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the program and it still doesn't work. I also uninstalled service pac 3 to no avail.
The specific problem is that my machine will call and connect to the server, but they will not communicate.
I am having no other issues with this machne and the only changes that were made was the service pac up-grade. All other funtions relating to dial-ups and my home network work fine. Also have a machine running Win 98 that connects and works fine.
The IT person at work hasn't been much help. I've looked through the knowledge base and also sent Microsoft a request for help.
Thanks in advance.
