Hi,
Corel doesn't give you the opportunity to stop them from changing file associations. This isn't as bad as them changing some key that stops a Win98 folder from previewing a jpg when you change the file association back. After three hours of looking, I gave up and ran the Win98 INSTALL!?!?! again. 30 minutes later I had my previewer back. Anybody know an easier route to this. Frustration is not something I deal with well. . .
Thank You All in advance, and for your interest in this forum. I think it's great here. I've learned just enough to be dangerous to the IT people at work!!!

With Windows 98 you can goto Folder Options then File Types. Then you can choose the extension that you want and change the program associated with it.

We IT people like this site too. It helps us undo what the user tries to do.

Hi, it's me again.

I got the part on changing file associations down OK. My problem is with the "My Docs" folders. There is a viewer when you set them up as a web page. That viewer stops working when Corel installs and you change the .jpg associations back to Internet Explorer. So I wonder if there is a registry key with the IE setting that can be changed.
Still wondering. . .
