Can someone point out to me where the items are stores for the right-click menu on the start button. Certain programs i install sets itself on that menu and i would like to get rid of some of them.
Thanks.

Well, logically, you'd expect it to take it's cue from context menus for Folders, since the Start Button opens \windows\start menu. A quick perusal of my registry seems to confirm this: look at HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder under the Shell and Shellex keys. The funny thing, however, is that not all of my folders' contextmenuhandlers are on the start button. For example, Scan with Norton Antivirus is on both, but Winzip is only on the Folders context menu. Furthermore, the Start Menu has no cut/paste/rename/copy/etc functions. Now the display of these core Win functions are controlled using an "Attributes" key, but it's strange that I can't find a "start menu" key where that value would be stored.
The long and short of it is, I believe you can only remove an application's contextmenuhandler by deleting it from HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder\Shellex --but you'll then lose it on your folder right-click menu.
Regards...
