I was wondering if someone could help me with a problem. I'll try to be as specific and in detail as I can. Recently, I formatted my hard drive and reinstalled Windows 95. Before reinstalling it, the View setting for every single folder was set in List and when I created a new folder, the default View setting was List. Now, after reinstalling Windows 95, every folder's View setting is in Large Icon and when I create a new folder, the default View setting is Large Icon. Everytime I create a new folder, I have to change it from Large Icon to List. I change other folders too and they'll stay in List view for a while, but eventually when I come back to them, they are back to Large Icon. I prefer List and this is very annoying. Do you know of a way I can change my default New Folder View setting back to List and a way to keep them from changing back to Large Icon once they're in List? Thanks in advance for any help...

I am not completly sure this will work for you but if you want to give it a try.
the NOSAVESETTINGS can be rather confusing and may seem not to work I think you would want 0 as your DWORD to save your setting. I have found it may take a few reboots for it to stick if it works at all.

1.Start Regedit
2.Go to HKEY_Current_User\Software\Microsoft\CurrentVersio n\Policies
3.There should already be at least a Explorer
4.You can then add DWORD values set to 1 in the appropriate keys
5.In the Explorer key you can add:
NoSaveSettings - Don't save settings on exit
