We recently aquired several laptops with Win2000 for use on our network (Windows NT4 servers).

An annoying problem is that whenever a new user comes on, a default American Keyboard layout is given.

I have been in as Machine Administrator, and Domain Administrator and set this to British, but whenever a new user logs on, it gives him/her an American keyboard. (I'm not being anti american here guys, it's just that our keyboard, for better or worse, is laid out differently).

Can anybody tell me where I can set the machine to give default British keyboard for everybody and anybody coming in new.

You should be able to log in as Administrator and make the change in Control Panel, Regional Settings.

On WinXP there is an Advanced tab with "Apply all settings to the current user account and to the default user profile" box that needs to be checked, should be something similar in Win2000 [don't have my Win2000 running just now, later today].

We all, each of us, have a uniqueness, some of us enjoy it, some of us don't.

Not if you want to use the Number pad for login. That occurs in the .default user profile. The above answer is the correct one.
