I've recently got a CDMA telephone set, which I've connected to my COM1 serial port. The set displays a connection speed on 64kbps, while windows displays 115+kbps. But actual file downloads seem slow.
How can I tweak windows to download, connect,, etc faster through the serial port and CDMA phone system?

look I don't know what type of CDMA handset you have, but a couple of years ago a factory engineer showed me one and it had a normal analog modem at 14kbps. I guess they are faster now but I can't imagine 115kpbs to be possible on it unless your telco offers a special digital line specific for that purpose like ISDN. And as you know the limit for Analog modems is 56K not 64K...which is possible with ISDN /DSL or T1 only
perhaps if have a picture or spec sheet site of this CDMA handset we can take a look and get a clear idea what are you talking about

The CDMA handset model is Hyundai HWP-120.
It is supposed to com at 64kbps, but it doesn't seem that fast.
I've tested my connection speed with free online speed tests, and got varying results. Some sites measured 12kbps, while others measured 45kbps.
Maybe there's something with the windows software that i can tweak, but i'm not sure where.

did you try increasing the COM port speed
in control panel >system > device manager > ports (COM & LPT),
select the port you are using & change the speed setting to something higher than 115 kbps.
Mine goes up to 921 kbps but I am not sure the hardware supports that. You might want to try a lower setting and then increase it one step at a time until you match the maximum for your hardware. Once you go beyond the maximum you wont be able to connect to the CDMA device.
