i don't know if RM can address this issue:

i use a program that requires an updated client to be installed weekly. a few months ago, a critical dll failed to register. the software tech support dept worked for months with me on this issue and concluded that there is a corruption in the registery when i'm logged in with my profile which has Admin rights. the client installed properly when i created a bogus user without Admin rights. there was a point in time when i was able to install the client successfully under my profile.

is this something RM can verify/correct, or can someone make a recommendation of a setting i can check to see if there is a problem is the Admin profile? not looking forward to a re-install of the operating system. using Win XP Pro SP2.

thanks

thank you i tried using a new admin account. something about any admin account in registry is causing the dll to register. is there a way to fix the corruption?

when you said "Quote: something about any admin account in registry is causing the dll to register"

do you have a screen shot of this error message?

can you confirm whether creating a new admin account works?

Try using RM and see whether it's solve the problem or not ? If it doesn it always have a backup feature !!

I am having the same problem. after running RM some software still will not install, one of which cites key access as being the problem. Going to regedit to change permissions for the relevant key class so that it will accept changes to children eventually leads to a message that a key cannot be opened for lack of permissions. As I am doing this as admin are there any processes that might lock a key even to an admin and can RM identify something like this?

Hey dude, do u wanna try installing the other software in safemode. If you can provide me with name of the application that you trying install, I can test it on mah end.

If you still experience the problem, I will recoken to diasble all the programs at startup and then try install the software that you like to install.

There could be other program blocking to install your other softwares. I heard that these days secrity suties causing lots of problem. for example registring issue...
