I heard that Win 9x,ME and 2K are not compatible with P4 or AMD XP's.

Is there a patch or upgrade for these Oses?

I have not had any problems with these OS's on P4's and AMD XP's.

Just out of interest where did you hear they were not compatible?

I have heard that the new arhitecture of these cpu's are not supported by the Oses that I have mentioned and I have heard that because these Oses only supports P3's they are much faster in P3's that in P4's

I can't really comment about W98 as I have not used it for so long but WME and W2K are very quick using the P4 and AMD XP processors.

Personally I have never experienced any problems.

Perhaps others can comment.

You have been misinformed about the architecture of P4 processors. The processor is designed to maximise the benefits of the latest OS technologies in Windows XP but will function perfectly well in Windows 9x and Windows 2000.

This troubleshooting article from Intel provides details on all OS's therefore it's clear that the processor can be utilized by all Windows 9x and later operating systems.
