I am using Windows 98SE. I read you saying that deleting the files in the Temp folder is a must..how do I do that. Select all and then delete? Are you sure there is nothing in there that I need? I know my computer is running slow because I am running 128 MB Ram and 950 Mhtz and yet it is lagging a lot. I am also missing something in my Windows/fonts folder. I used to have a thing in File that said Add New Font and now it is gone. Also now when I add new fonts by dragging them in they no longer go to my other programs like msn messenger and office 97 or into my sending mail fonts. They used to but not any more. I sure would like some instruction on how to get back whatever it is that is missing so this will work again. Thank you so much.

Yes, you select all, and delete all. As simple as that.

About your Fonts issue, that usually means that your Fonts folder has lost its System attribute.

At a MS-DOS prompt, type the following lines, each line followed by clicking 'enter':

attrib +s c:\window\fonts
exit or win (to return to Windows)

Make sure the path to the fonts folder is correct for your machine and reboot when you're finished.

You'll have your 'install fonts' option back.

Good luck, Tony

Will this also fix the problem about my downloaded fonts not going into the other programs that use fonts with as well? Like my mail fonts and my msn messenger fonts etc.?

Don't know about that.

I'm not sure, but try it, and see for yourself.

Just start typing at the C:\> prompt, and copy exactly what I posted.

Even easier: copy it.

The Command prompt has a Paste function (3rd button on the task bar)

I'm not sure this one's solved yet, but thanks for the compliment, Hally.

BTW, I'm not expecting people to thank me profusely all the time, though, although it is nice, of course.

I'm having a good time trying to troubleshoot these issues regardlessly.
