<a target="_blank" href=http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=KB;EN-US;q118579&FR=1&LNG=ENG&SA=PER> use the Msdos.sys File to personalize the boot process</a>
[Options]
AutoScan= Number
Default: 1
Purpose: Defines whether or not ScanDisk is run after a bad shutdown. A setting of 0 does not run ScanDisk; 1 prompts before running ScanDisk; 2 does not prompt before running ScanDisk but prompts you before fixing errors if any errors are found.

Double-click the Scheduler in the System Tray to get a window where you can add a new item.
Weekly or Monthly will be the closest you'll come in Win98. As you go through the settings, you will come to the standard Scandisk window where you choose the drive/s and at the bottom of the window is where to put the checkmark to automatically fix problems.
Don't have a Win95 machine running just now but I think Scheduler is much the same it it.
We all, each of us, have a uniqueness, some of us enjoy it, some of us don't.
