I want to make sure before I do anything, cause I don't have the rescue cd for my HP pavilion,it came with win95 and I installed win me (big mistake) and now I would like to un-install it from A\R,but if I un-install win me from there will I end up with win95 which is under win me or I run a risk of wiping out everything, including win95? your help is appreciated thanks a billion!!!! ps:I'm doing this because I would like to install win 98se instead...

IF - if you elected to save system files during the upgrade, it should restore Win95 when WinME is uninstalled. Should be an item in the list in Add/Remove Programs. If you didn't make that election, there will be no uninstalling of WinME, won't be an item in the list. Can't give you the exact wording of the item as I don't save the old files.
Another issue, if the drive has been converted to FAT32 format, you will not be able to go back to Win95/95A. Only Win95B/95C supported FAT32. The drive would have to be fdisk'd and remove the FAT32 partitions, losing everything on it in the process.

BertImmenschuh. Thank you for the warning. now in a\r there is only the win me and the un-install info.I have the win95 info in the c:\drive, but not in a\r.Is there any other way to install win98se without fdisking the drive,or what about partitioning with PM and installing win 98se in that partition?

If the WinME uninstall info is not in the A/R list, then WinMe doesn't know how to uninstall and restore Win95.
Win95/98/ME usually can't be installed on the same computer because they all have to be on the boot/system disk/partition, meaning C:\. Having said that, you'll find someone probably has done it using System Commander or BootMagic.
Considering the time and trouble involved with fixing something against starting over, the best route is to backup your data , fdisk the drive to really clean it, format and install Win98.

BertImmenschuh thank you for your reply, but at the risk of repeating myself, I would like to clarify a bit more, and here is what is in the add remove : delete win millennium uninstall information and uninstall windows millennium, and in explore there is a tools95 folder, which I don't know what that folder mean, or is! And is a folder in where my old win95 would be? so in I uninstall windows Me I would return to HP win 95 because the problem here is, that I don't have no rescue\restore disks or drivers for my HP rig, and there ain't any to get, so if I screw up here I'll be done, and I would not be able to put the thing back together again, I really want to do this, but safely and without nightmares if possible ,thanks a billion !!!
