i need to reinstall my windows, some programs aren't working properly, if i do this will i loose all of the programs and files that i have put on there myself? i only ask because my floppy drive is broke. i can not save anything to floppy. so again can i reinstall windows without loosing all the programs and files i put on my computer?

As long as you don't FORMAT, you shouldn't lose anything. If you just put your Windows disk in, the computer should boot from the disk, and ask you if you want to install it. You will end up just loading Windows over top of itself, which should be okay.

you will not lose any programs that are installed to your computer..... all you need to do is run setup again on your computer.... i believe you don't just need the start up disk to for you to install the windows you must also have the win98 installer as well.... the system will be overwritten unless if you want to save the previous setting of your computer if you just want to uninstall the installation that you are performing.........
i guess this will take away your worries....
