MS word very Slowly (W98)

I have been working with Word 97 for a long time, and recently word become very very slow. I check powerpoint and excel and them functions good.

In word the slowness is enormous when a copy/paste something, or use the orthographic corrector, or review a document, etc,etc.

I reinstalled ms office, I used scandisk, I checked my HD.

Someone can help me with this problem...??

Does your word application usually load documents when you chose to start word... in my case i encounter the excel slow performance and find out that it loads a documents during start-up of excel.... if so go to windows/application data/word/startup/ if theres a .doc file that is present in the startup folder you can delete this to make your word fast during the first start up of the word...

I founded this in a magazine

Insert in the register the following

[HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\8.0\Word\Options]
"CacheSize=512"
"BitMapSize=2056"

This solved my problem...
