My system file checker has found Setupx. DLL to be corrupted. Is it anyway I could delete it or restore it. Appreciate any help!

System File Checker [SFC] should have given you an opportunity to extract a fresh copy. It is located on your Win98 CD in the folder Win98 in PRECOPY2.CAB. SFC will replace the corrupt one, may have to restart the computer afterward.

You can run SFC again and choose to extract a single file.

The .cab files may also be in C:\Windows\Options\Cabs folder.

What is your computer? If it is one of the 'brands' the Win98 setup files may have been 'customized', that is allowed for the 'brands' to do under MS license agreement.

On Win98SE CD, that file is 745KB in size. Could be E-Mailed. Is it for Win98 FE or Win98 SE? Also could be downloaded from here: http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?setupx?
