desktop icon (WME)

Hello all!
I have lost my Desktop icon at the bottom of my taskbar and I can't seem to get it back. Anyone have an answer? Thanks in advance!

Open Explorer, and go to C:\WINDOWS\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch.

Rightclick, and choose: New/Text File

Paste the following in it:

[shell]
Command=
IconFile=explorer.exe,3
[Taskbar]
Command=ToggleDesktop

Save as Show Desktop.scf in this folder.

Not sure if it is the same WinME as it is in WIN98FE but use Explorer to navigate to C:\Windows\System and look for Show Desktop.

If you find it then right click and drag it to your quicklaunch bar and then release and select Copy here.

Otherwise, try Tony's advise again.

When looking at the Properties of mine it shows no extension (for what that is worth)

I seem to have made a little mistake. Sorry about that.

It should be this:

[shell]
Command=2
IconFile=explorer.exe,3
[Taskbar]
Command=ToggleDesktop

Incidentally, Report_2's advice about dragging the file to Quick Launch works as well.

And yes, it also works in ME as well as in XP.

However, it seems I forgot the 2 in 'Command=2'
