Hello peoples, thanx for taking the time to read this, i'll try to be as succinct as possible.
When i first got my pc i had a bad case of new toy syndrome, and managed to stitch myself up.
The first few cd's i ripped were ripped as protected files, now want to burn a selection of these trax, but i have no idea how to unprotect these files, and i no longer have the original cd's (ex-girlfriends).
I'm gutted to think that i'm gonna have to buy the cd's to sort things out, so my question is threefold:
Does anyone know of a file converter that can "unprotect" these files? or...
Is there any way to unprotect them by fiddling with the options? or...
What are "un****" programs, do they work, and where can i get one if it would help?
Many thanx P

If you have a CD burner, you might have gotten an audio extraction program with it. Use it to extract the files. If not, make sure the CD has absolutely NO INFORMATION for any of the tracks, then copy them. In essence, if nothing but the filename (what the title shows) is known, then there is no "protection." That help any? By the way, make sure you're disconnected from the Internet when putting in CD's, as WMP7 automatically gets CD Info off the net as soon as you put the CD in.
