Hi All,

I just installed my first Windows 2K server. This will be for a file server and will not be hosting any WEB pages. In NT4.0 install you had a choice about installing IIS. I did not see this with W2K. Is it safe for me to unload the IIS in Windows Setup? Do most people do this for File server type operations?

Thanks Bob

IIS is only required for HTTP, FTP and other web-type connections. If you are going to only be doing file and print services with this server (also domain controller duties). You then should remove IIS for security reasons if nothing else.
