Hi all,

I have problem regarding internet explorer on winXP.
The problem is that I cannot see any buttons or status bars on IE.
The only thing I see is, when I start IE, is a search bar with home page as start page and nothing else to go forward.

Then I downloaded IE 6 and tried to run installation so that I get a new version but I got a message that there is IE already running on this machine, first remove this from control panel -> add/remove.
But when I open add/remove program window I don't see there IE.

Now my question is, is there any way I can get back buttons and bars on IE without needing to install new version av IE.
If I cann't get back original IE then how to remove IE so that I can install new one.
Hope I have explained my problem. Drop me a line if something is not clear.
thanks in advance
regards

IE6 is part of WinXP. Right-click the gray bar next to Help, be sure 'Lock the toolbars' is unchecked. Then click on the 3 top-listed toolbars if they do not have checkmarks before them in the list.

We all, each of us, have a uniqueness, some of us enjoy it, some of us don't.

Hi BertImmenschuh,

Thanks for reply.
As you said that IE is a part of WinXP then what if I want to reinstall IE or upgrade.
Do I need reinstall winXP or is there any way to remove IE and reinstall it again?
Any comments

It also tells you how to repair IE.
