Is there anyway to rename file/folder with just one left click which lets you input text, immediately? Currently the Right click rename is a bit hassle as it's slow to popup menu, also it take time for me for me to look up the "rename" item. another way is to click to file/folder twice BUT you can't click too fats as it will open it instead of rename it... I am a Web designer, I do a lot renaming file and folder everyday! pls help!

The left click procedure requires 2 clicks, one click to highlight the name, a short pause, then click again to open the name box for typing. Doesn't work if the icons have been changed to single click opening.

I know what you mean. So now I hope I can single click on icon's LABEL to typing, and this won't affact whether the icons have been changed to single-click-to-open. to single-click-open, I need to click on the icon itself. This is how it works on a Mac.

Welcome to Windows 101, you have just learned that there is always at least 3 ways to do the same thing, sometimes 4. And each one of us will have our favorite because it works for us.
