I have 2 O.S on my computer-win2k,win98.
In win98,drive E shows 845MB free. while in Win 2k, it shows 355 KB free ! As a result i cannot copy any files in E even though it shows enough disk space. please help me !

The only thing I can think of is that you have the W2K swapfile on the E:. As the file is dynamic you won't see the same space being consumed when in Windows 98. Looks like you need to do some cleanup on the W2K partition.

Thanks for your suggestion. But that was not the problem.
actually i had installed Norton Utilities before . and I had deleted some 600MB of space after that. What had happened was that in Win98 , the deleted space was shown as free . But Norton Utilities had actually turned the Norton Protection on for my E: drive . So , it was still protecting the files i had deleted ! in fact Norton Utilities maintains a NProtect folder in Recycled Bin which cannot be seen even if hidden files are enabled to be viewed.
But in Win2k , it was treatuing the Norton Nprotect folder as an ordinary folder that occupied 600MB and hence it was showing the rest of free space only !!
I deleted the Norton Protection files and disabled the Norton Protection on all my drives and voila !!!
I got my free space back !! Simple isn't it ??
thanks again for your advice !

Glad you got it fixed and thanks for the tip on Norton. I'll keep it in mind for the future.
