Should I delete index.dat? (W2K)

Hi,

I've been having problems with IE6 crashing lately.
The crashes are random, but strangely, it happens a lot while surfing this site(the forums)...

I installed IE6 on my Win2k machine, installed security rollup patch Q321232, have the latest JVM (5.00.3805)

I can't think of any solution, but I've heard that deleting "index.dat" in my Cookies & Temp Internet Files folders might help. Could this help?

I am using IE5.5sp2 and have a problem with this site too.

When I use the back button it freezes IE.

I stopped using the back button on this site and the problem has gone away.
