When clicking on links that open web pages in seperate windows, nothing shows up in the new window.

Everything shows up around the window, toolbar, scrollbar, etc...but just a transparent inside part, and a waiting cursor.

I have to physically stop the new window from loading, then click the go button for the page to load correctly.

It's usually one or two dlls that have gotten unregistered.

First, go to IE tools/internet options/programs and turn on the check box for IE to check if it is the default browser. Shut down and restart IE. When it asks to be default browser, say yes.

Now go to Start/Run, and type regsvr32 urlmon.dll
Press enter.
Note: you should see a brief message that the dll has been successfully registered.

Next, fire up Internet Explorer, and Click Tools/Internet Options/Programs, and then click "Reset Web Settings".
Now, check to see if Web links work like they should.

If they don't, the next step would be reparing IE;

Control Panel > Software Add-remove > MS Internet Explorer > REmove > Repair IE.

If you're not running IE 5.5 with Service Pack 2 installed, don't repair, but <a target="_blank" href=http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/downloads/recommended/ie55sp2/default.asp?%20FinishURL=%2Fdownloads%2Frelease%2E asp%3Freleaseid&lt;br%20/&gt;%20%3D31770%26area%3Dtop%26ordinal%3D5%26redirect %3Dn&lt;br%20/&gt;o>upgrade to that version</a>.

Good luck, Tony

Thanks. I tried the regsvr32 urlmon.dll, but that didn't work.

I just restored to the prior version and everything is fine now. Thanks for your help. That was one annoying problem |:(
