what can I do if I forgot the administrator password of NT?

do you have any other accounts with admin access?? if so login using that account and reset the admin password account that way.
There also used to be a program called LophtCrack which you could import the SAM of the local machine into and crack the passwords with. Not sure of its availability anymore.

I would follow gavsta's suggestion as W2K does not seem to be very consistent regarding some files required to change or create the admin password. LophtCrack is good and effective!

As a matter of fact, I can't find the software Lophtcrack... does anyone know where to get it?

have a look on kazaa for lophtcrack or NTpasswd.exe both will do the job for you
