There were several requests to find out how to view and edit the user.dat and system.dat files.
There was a reply for a 3rd party app, Resplendent registrar lite. This app does not work with user.dat. If I try to import I get an "invalid .reg" message. If I try to edit, I get a not allowed message. If that person can shed some light on this it would be appreciated.
Also there was a solution to right click on user.dat, "open with" registry, and so on. Except that when I choose to open with registry, I get an "invalid .reg" message and cannot open the file in registry. Is there an additional step to the original instruction.
In other words, can anybody help with viewing (other than in hex) and editing these .dat files.
