I am trying to change my home page by going to "Internet options" (after Tools) then just typing in the new homepage but every time i get back on the computer its like i never saved it and it keeps sending to some page i've never heard of. If there's a way to fix this it would be helpful.

I have found that setting to work best by actually having the Web page open in IE, then click on Use Current.

Also, what exactly is this page you're being referred to?
There's been a spate of homepage hijacking lately, and reading this article may help: <a target="_blank" href=http://www.spywareinfo.com/hijacked.html>http://www.spywareinfo.com/hijacked.html</a>

Search for a file named
gshp.vbs
Delete it.
Then go to msconfig and find the entry which starts it and uncheck it. Reboot.

It's a homepage hijacker: it sets your homepage to Istarthere.com...

Also, do this:
Download <a target="_blank" href=http://patrick.kolla.de/spybotsd.html>Spybot - Search & Destroy</a>
It looks for spyware, but also targets dialers and other nasties, and it's freeware.
After installing, go to the Online tab, and search for and install all updates.
NOTE: Don't install the 1.0 program update, as that's the one you have already.
Next, go to the Settings tab > File Sets, and uncheck 'System Internals' and 'Tracks' .
These aren't needed for our present purpose.
Finally, hit 'Check All', and have SpyBot remove all it finds.
Good luck, Tony

i have ad-aware and i might just download the Spybot anyway because the ad-aware didn't find the file even after running it about 3 times. But the other help worked pretty well Thanks!
