Currently, are there any known issues with Task Manager, in Win2K Pro?
Invariably, when I try to shut down a misbehaving program using Cntrl/Alt/Del, Task Manager won't work properly, and I have to shut down the whole PC instead (from within Task Manager). Sometimes, Task Manager gets into a real mess and it takes me several different attempts to shut things down sensibly. When TM screws up like this, the TM graphic shows 100% CPU usage!!!
Fortunately, I always seem to be able to reboot and then everything's okay again. Windows appears unharmed.
I'm fairly convinced myself that there's a bug in Task Manager, but has anyone else had problems like these?
My Windows is Win2K Pro + Service Pack 2 + hard disk cache writeback hotfix.
