Hi,
In a local network , how can I log off another user from my own account. I am a simple user, not a power one and don't have any administrative authorities, but there should be a way to do that.
Thanks a lot.

You will have to ask the network admin to give you administrator rights to your local computer.

Thanks a lot for replying.

What do you mean by local computer? Does it mean a specefic computer at the network, or if the administrator gives me the administrative rights ,I can use it in all of the computers of the network?

And should the admin give me the rights each time I login, or once is enough?

I'm not entirely sure if I have understood your question. But if the case being another user logging on to your computer, and locks the computer and leaves. Then the admin can give you administrator rights to that spesific computer. He only needs to do this once. Then when you come and find your machine in use by this other user you can logg on as yourself. You will be warned that this will logg off the current user. Then you will be prompted to logg on as usual. This doesn't mean that you have admin rights to the domain or any other computer on the network, just the local machine. Hope this was of some help.:-)

Hi,

Thanks a lot for the useful help.
But my first question was that in a LAN which have for example 100 computers, can the user of computer #1 log off the user of another computer(for example computer #50) that has logged on, while both persons sit behind their computers ?
Is there any programs to do that ?

I've often wondered the same saeedgolab.

I'd love someone on this board to name a freeware program that can do that.

Hi Dank,

Thanks for the reply , but the program runs only under win95/98 and doesn't work under win2k.

Is there such programs for w2k too ?

Thanks!
