smitten,
Have you done a search on your system for that file? I also use WinMe, so I checked my own computer. I found the file in two locations, neither of which were C:\windows\system\.
I found it here: C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND\EBD\
and here: C:\WINDOWS\Application Data\COMMAND\EBD\
Both are exactly the same size 35+kb but they have different dates. The first is 01/28/01 and the second 06/08/00.
Before you download a new one, do a search of your system. If you find it elsewhere, copy it to the directory where it's being looked for - C:\windows\system\ - according to your post.

Just out of interest Nana, are you able to make a start-up disk?
DanK,
Sorry it took so long to get back to you, but I had to buy more floppies. I have a recent StartUp disk, but like you, I wondered if I could make one now, after smitten's question.
The answer is a resounding <font color=red>YES!</font color=red> My computer did as it was told - no questions asked, no comments given.
After the disk was finished, I did a search for aspi2dos.sys. There is still just the two files, both in the same location as yesterday.

Thank you nana, I found it and put it in it's right place, all is working great, Making start up disc worked fine, Thanx
You're welcome. Glad it worked.
Just out of curiosity, did you find aspi2dos.sys on your own system? Where? Also, where did you put aspi2dos.sys so that you could make aStartUp Disk?

I found aspi2dos.sys in c:\windows\command\EBD and I cut and copied it to c:\windows\system, I didn't find it in c:\windows\application data\command\EBD like yourself, I guess I needed to put it in the right place where it would be recognized.
Dan & smitten,
Very strange! We all have the same OS, yet the <font color=red>StartUp Disk</font color=red> 'maker' appears to look in different places for the same file. My system must have gone to C:\Windows\Application Data\Command\EBD for aspi2dos.sys when I made my first one. Aspi2dos.sys didn't even exist in C:\Windows\Command\EBD until 2 months after that.
Does anyone know why?
