Hi,

I'm getting pretty annoyed with my icq contact list shifting after a game of quake3 or unreal. This only happens when I have the contact list on float. If it's locked either to the right or left of the screen, it doesn't shift. I've located the keys in the registry that determine the location of the floating contact list but I haven't been able to figure out a way to keep these settings. I've tried NoSaveSettings apparently it doesn't lock the position of the icq list - only the desktop & icons..etc. Any help would be appreciated. I'm basically trying to have Icq not save when it exits so my list location is locked forever. Or a way to make the contact list postion reg keys unmodifiable would be nice too...thanks

doesn't have to involve the registry unless the resolution of the games you described merge your window positions of certain programs..ie..ICQ..so if you use a different resolution for your games then you use on the desktop..trying changing the resolution of the game or your monitor..

Thanks! I was running my desktop at 800x600 and playing my games at 640x480. I guess that explains the shift of the icq window eh? But unfortunately I have to play the game in 640x480 res. to achieve better frame rates ... I guess I'll just have to live with my icq window always shifting after a gibfest eh? oh well, thanks for the help anyways!

I get an even more peculiar problem after playing QIII - after exiting the game, my MSOffice2000 toolbar only shows in half of the screen (i.e. literally cut in half!). I have messed with resolution changes etc, all to no avail. To get it back I have to select the 'Refresh Icons' command, and all is ok. Strange?

BTW, I have to re-boot after every game with QIII as it seems to grab hugh amounts of memory and then doesn't let go - is there a fix to this?
