w2k update problem (W2K)

I have W2K and IE 6.0. When I go to "tools" and "windows
update" I get a blank page and a message on the bottom
that says "done but with errors". I click on the icon and
a box pops up that says

error: navigator.language is null or not an object
code 0
URL:HTTP://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/?IE

I have run into this on MSNBC as well. I haven't a clue what it means. I have reinstalled IE6 and still have the same issue.

Any ideas? Thanks.

I've had similar messages and usually it is a scripting/HTML error on the page itself, not on my computer.

Are you using English or another language?
Are you sure Javascript is enabled?

It appears to be a problems with the page itself because I don't have this problem on other sites. Yes, I have JS enabled -- I have everything enabled just to rule out as much as possible. Thanks for the information --- I didn't feel like rebuilding my machine!
