save as missing folder (W98)

when I open the save as from the file and I click the little arrow, in the drop down manu, the folder my briefcase is missing, now how do I get back my briefcase, into the save as list ?... thank you !!

You could try thgis reg file if it's missing from the Windows Explorer:

open Notepad and copy and paste the following between the lines and save the file as briefcasefix.reg. Double-click on the file to merge the contents into the registry.

In reading up on 'Briefcase' it says it is used with laptops and portables. Therefore I don't have it. But in the 'Save as' drop down, click C:, then Windows, then Desktop, then Briefcase.

Just out of interest can you right click a file and choose send to Briefcase or right click the desktop and choose New>Briefcase

You could also try this:

Go to start > run and copy/paste this in the Run/Open field:

rundll32.exe syncui.dll,Briefcase_Create

Click OK and see if the option is now present.

Tony that string create a briefcase to the desk top. I can do that with CREATE NEW, but enyway I have my briefcase on the desk top and in explore I just don't have in the save as option dropdown menu ok! I hope you understand the question.But nevertheless I like to thank you for your answer, and if you have eny other suggestion please let me know, thanks again!

Reghakr I have my briefcase in explore and on the desk top , an I can create as many briefcases I want , my problem is: it's not listed in the seve as dropdown list that's all! copy everything between the lines below into notepad. Save as fix.reg

execute fix.reg to return the entry into the drop down list.
