Whenever I visit a site which plays music mainly when quick time player comes up I will get an error Invalid page fault in module kernel32.dll. I am using IE 5.5 SP2 and I have even went to the Quick Time site and installed a dll or something similar that is necessary, but it seems that it did no good. I get this error EVEN when music is played other than quick time. Any help appreciated

ciscoman1,

Personally, I would go into QuickTime options (MIME settings) and disable all except for QuickTime movie (.mov)

You can test the plugin here:
Netscape-Style Plug-ins Do Not Work After Upgrading Internet Explorer (Q303401) (http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/qtcheck/>http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/qtcheck/</a>

and)

When I go to the plugin test page I can see the Blue Quick Time Logo, BUT when I select to check STREAMING CONTENT I get the IEexplorer caused an invalid page fault in module kernel32.dll so I don't know what's going on. How do I check the MIME options also. Any ideas as to why I get the error as this has been happening for some time now and I usually try to avoid those QTime web sites.

ciscoman,

Do you get other kernel32.dll errors?

Have you tried uninstalling, then re-installing?

Go to Start&gt;Run, and type msconfig, click the startup tab. If you see an entry named qttask, uncheck it.

Yes I did uninstall it and reinstall it version 5.x and checked the plugin directory in IE to see what version I have and I have 4.x versions which at Quick Time site it says I should be okay. Also I looked in the startup folder and there is NO selection of qttask so I am okay there. The weird thing is, is that I can play movie trailers etc but after the trailers or other I will get the error iexplore caused an invalid page fault in module kernel32.dll. Don't know what's happening with that, any more suggestions are welcome. ciscoman
