Messenger logon names list (WXP)

Does anyone know how to delete the usernames that are stored in XP Windows messenger?
My friend used it and his name is still one of the choices in the prompt window.
I searched for *.pwl, but I guess XP doesn't work that way....btw it's Home edition.

Open control pannel and double click user accounts.
Choose the account that you are currnetly logged onto then the top right hand of the screen click Manage my network passwords.
The passwords should be on the list.
