I just put a second hand hdd in my system and now I turn it on and I get BIOS CHECKSUM ERROR PLEASE INSERT SYSTEM DISK! Is this CIH (Cheynoble) at work or KLEZ????? Help Please

Did you try Fdisk and Format?

cant get past this bloomin BIOS checksum error i think i got a flat battery cos the bios isn't reading properly hence the checksum error!
Tell your users 90% of all computer problems can be fixed with a simple re-boot... Or just a large boot.

You didn't say whether ot was a NEW hard drive.

eeeer no i did the techy thing of finding a hard drive at work that wasn't noted anywhere and "Borrowed It" he he. I thought it was a good idea at the time!!! It was 20 GIG compared to my temporary and i cant stress that enough 3 gig and 1 gig hard drives!!!!!

Sometimes when you get checksum errors the default BIOS settings are loaded as protection. As you mentioned this could well be down to a low battery.
Maybe: the HDD is set to Master and your new ('borrowed') HDD is also as master and both on the same controller or there is some sort of bootloader problem if both HDD's have OS's on them.
You are probably right about the low battery though.
